I love the concept of paying it forward. I was first introduced to it by Dr David Hamilton who is an amazing proponent of the all round benefits that doing good has on your health and wellbeing.
We generally feel happiness or other good feelings when someone does something kind for us or to us. The act of kindness releases oxytocin into our systems – the feel good bonding hormone. How much lovelier would the world be if we carried that feeling forward and found another person to do something kind for?
It doesn’t have to be complicated either. If someone smiles at you on the train, why not pass that smile on to another? It really can be that simple to brighten up someone’s day.
I believe that everyone could benefit from a little Cognitive Hypnotherapy. It certainly changed my life enormously when I first discovered it and my clients often report how they have started to light up inside through the work we do. In the spirit of this I would like to ?pay forward all the good will and positive interactions that I’ve personally experienced this year. I have many personal ways of doing this, but I would also like to offer anyone mentioning this blog when booking, a ?10 discount on a Cognitive Hypnotherapy session during the dark months of January and February 2014.
Feel free to use this for yourself, but why not also forward this on to a friend, family member or colleague who would benefit? If we all pay something forward this Christmas we could reach the other side of the world with just one smile.
